We support their aims, but the underlying issues are often complex and a listing here does not necessarily mean we endorse all of their policies and actions.

The work of the National Landscape Partnership aims to conserve and enhance this extraordinary place now and for the future.
Registered charity dedicated to conserving, restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of the National Landscape and surrounding area.
Carries out activities which benefit the community, and in particular to work to conserve and enhance the Arnside & Silverdale National Landscape.
Local group covering all aspects of natural history including moths, butterflies, birds, bats, mammals, dragonflies, insects, grasslands and flowers.

Meetings take place on the first Thursday of each month, 7.30pm in Pool Room at the Royal Station Hotel, Carnforth.
Together with our members and volunteers, we're working to create a Cumbria that's rich in wildlife.
Retail - Food
Buy food and other items by bringing your own containers, fill them and pay by weight. When they are empty, bring them back and refill them.
Based in Kendal, buy food from a Community Larder or eat in the People's Cafe. Using surplus food to reduce waste, reduce emissions and bring the community together. Run by South Lakes Action on Climate Change towards transition.
The stall shares surplus garden food and seedlings, recipe and growing ideas, minimising food waste, food miles and packaging, whilst raising donations for local food banks.
Retail - Clothing
An eco-friendly homewares and clothing store on your doorstep in Arnside.
Buy second hand clothing and other items and help homeless people. Homelessness is not inevitable, and this is a way to work together to end it.
They make clothes that are good for people, local communities, customers, and the planet. They make every garment in the UK and by doing so sustain and create thousands of skilled jobs and help to restore local economic prosperity and pride.
Recycling
Information about when and where to recycle most things.
Community RePaint is a UK wide paint reuse network, sponsored by Dulux. They collect leftover paint and redistribute it to individuals and groups in the community.
Charity that takes your unwanted usable tools, refurbishes them, sorts them into trade tool kits and sends them to the developing world for livelihood creation.
Part of Right2Work, a Community Interest Company that collects and recycles unwanted furniture from residents throughout South Cumbria, reusing and directing waste away from landfill. Online shop for purchases.
